The 5th Annual Pontchartrain Film Festival call for entry announced for the Student Short Film Showcase

Mandeville, LA - Students in Louisiana high schools and college can enter their shorts films, 15 minutes or less, into the 5th annual Pontchartrain Film Festival's Student Short Film Showcase.

Early bird deadline is July 1 and entries can be made through Sept. 19. Filmmakers will be notified if their works will be screened for competition by Oct. 10.

In addition to short narrative, animation and documentary films, this year’s festival will accept entries in the category of Music Video/New Media/Experimental. Entries can be made online through FilmFreeway at -350581.

The 5th annual Pontchartrain Film Festival will be hosted Nov. 4-5 by the City of Mandeville’s Department of Cultural Development at the Mandeville Trailhead, 675 Lafitte St. in Mandeville, Louisiana.

Last year’s festival screened 28 films, most represented by filmmakers and crew members at the festival. A filmmaker’s forum allowed audiences to engage with these award-winning and emerging Louisiana filmmakers.

The Pontchartrain Film Festival celebrates the variety of communities and culture that make the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain one of the unique areas of the New Orleans and Gulf coast region. By bringing high quality films, filmmakers, artists, exhibitions and workshops, the Pontchartrain Film Festival has become a premier cultural arts event on the north shore.
