A curated selection of films by Louisiana filmmakers.       

Q&A with filmmakers in attendance.

 

THE INTERVIEW by director Benjamin Connell, 24 min. A young man must find a job to support his new-found relationship with the girl of his dreams.

DEAD MAN’S FUEL by director John Darbonne, 12:30 min. A man wakes up in a riverbed with no idea of how he got there. Soon, he meets a gunslinger who tells him he is there to give him instructions and equipment for a journey, one he will take alone. 

THE MELANCHOLY MAN by director Samantha Aldana, 5 min. The world's saddest man meets the world's saddest woman.

LANGUAGE OF SILENCE by director Caterina Picone, 20 min. A musician who has recently lost his hearing must decide whether to get cochlear implants. Although his born-Deaf girlfriend is supportive, his anxieties about fitting in with society begin to cause a schism in their relationship.

SEED OF THE FREE by director Jency Griffin Hogan, 9:55. Based on a true story about Sojourner Truth in her early years, and the love she had for her son that transcended racial and social boundaries.

NOPD: GETTING IN by director Rachel Grissom, 6:11 min. Two best friends move to New Orleans, where they hope to be part of a brave new police department. Two best friends apply to the New Orleans Police Department.

FATHER by directors Baron and Brandon Creighton, 15:00 A young man, Bronson, is forced to deal with the demons of having an abusive father as his wife is giving birth to his first child.
